Charities in Kenya
The Republic of Kenya is a country that suffers enormously from poverty. While steps have been taken by the Government of Kenya to reform its economy and reduce the hardships of its people, many ambitions to change the country's economic situation have been hindered by political uncertainty. Kenya continues to struggle with starvation, homelessness, and disease, and where the government fails, it is the people's job to help one another.
As a result, a number of charities in Kenya have taken steps to fight the conditions that currently exist. Fruited Plains is one such organization, and at Fruited Plains, we believe everyone should have food to eat, clean clothes to wear, and an opportunity to provide for themselves and their family. Our three projects are helping to assist the people attain our goals and beliefs.

Unlike some charities in Africa and across the world, Fruited Plains is a faith based non-profit organization. By working with local churches we are able to share the message of the Gospel. The message that God exists and that He is there to provide with any struggles we currently face. Second, Fruited Plains operates based on the idea that providing handouts is not as helpful as providing hand-ups. While other Africa charity organizations provide food, temporary shelter, etc., Fruited Plains teaches Kenya's citizens how to provide for themselves now and in the future. Fruited Plains is just one of the Kenya organizations which offers long-term solutions, as opposed to one-time fixes. We not only want to make an impact on the current generation but future generations to come.
